Like all VOS (Vintage Original Spec) series instruments, the 1954 Chambered Les Paul Standard VOS is handcrafted for comfort and playability in the Gibson Custom Shop. The construction, neck profile, hardware, and electronics are period accurate, and a special nitro-cellulose finish treatment gives it the patina of a gently-aged vintage guitar. The body isn't chambered just for weight relief, although your back and shoulder will definitely appreciate it. Gibson uses a computer numeric controlled router to carve out carefully mapped areas that result in louder, more resonant guitars with increased sustain. The chambering is done before the maple top is put on, so there is no change in the guitar's rock solid appearance.Includes Gibson Custom Shop case, a certificate of authenticity, and custom care kit.
